Artists-in-residence program

Hône ArtLab 2008

From September 15 until December 15, Hône will be the host town for five European artists working on visual arts such as painting, design, drawing, illustration and photography.
The alpine context in which guest’s artists will submerge for three months will certainly influence their art production. The cultural interaction that will be trigged by the exchange between the artists and the local community is undoubtedly beneficial for both.

Hône ArtLab main goals are to support young artists in the development of their work and to enlarge their public, in order to make contemporary art worthwhile also among younger audiences. To emphasize this aspect, during the residence period Hône ArtLab will organize workshops and seminars addressed to youth, local communities and artists, where subjects as the insertion of young art production in the international circuit of arts and the local participation in the art world will be largely discussed. People working on the fields of local history, geography and culture will give special lectures to our guests, so they can obtain a complete knowledge about the territory of Hône and the local community.
